Elevation of privilege in Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services allows remote authenticated users to gain domain privileges via RPC. Certificate enrollment and remote administration clients accept CA connections without requiring RPC packet-privacy authentication, exposing the exchange to interception. Man-in-the-middle attackers with domain credentials can impersonate the CA connection and obtain elevated Active Directory access.
