Root command execution via command-line input injection
Published Nov 30, 2022 · Updated Apr 24, 2025
OS command injection in the EdgeConnect command-line interface allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands as root. The interface fails to neutralize attacker-controlled command content before invoking the underlying host, although HPE has not disclosed the affected command or function. High-privilege credentials and network reachability to a management interface are required, and successful exploitation permits complete control of the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=ECOS 9.2.1.0 and below; ECOS 9.1.3.0 and below; ECOS 9.0.7.0 and below; ECOS 8.3.7.1 and below;
