Unauthenticated remote code execution via PAPI buffer overflow
Published Oct 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Aruba InstantOS and ArubaOS contain buffer overflow vulnerabilities that allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted UDP packets to PAPI port 8211. Multiple underlying services copy packet data without sufficient bounds checking, enabling memory corruption and privileged operating-system code execution. Exploitation requires network reachability to the management protocol and no authentication; the vendor identifies affected release branches and provides upgrades.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
