Path traversal in Apache Ivy 2.0.0 through 2.5.0 allows remote attackers to overwrite files via malicious artifact coordinates. IvyPatternHelper substitutes unvalidated organization, module, revision, and artifact values into filesystem patterns, allowing ../ segments to escape the intended cache root. Exploitation requires a collaborating repository that accepts traversal-bearing requests; writes remain limited to paths writable by the Ivy process.
