CVE-2022-37857Network attack vector

Unauthorized session creation via blank default password

Published Sep 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in Hauk 1.6.1 allow remote attackers to create location-sharing sessions through a blank default server password. The Android client retains the shared server password in clear text, while the PHP backend keeps its hash in config.php and accepts an empty configured value. A reachable server left at the default blank value requires no authentication secret, exposing the service to unauthorized session creation.
