Unauthenticated memory corruption via oversized payload
Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Buffer overflow in downloadfile.cgi in TOTOLINK A860R 4.1.2cu.5182_B20201027 allows remote attackers to corrupt process memory. The main function extracts the payload value after an equals sign and copies it directly into a fixed destination without checking its length. The request requires no authentication, but public evidence does not establish whether the corruption causes a crash or code execution.
