Administrator compromise via stored media-field scripts
Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored XSS in WebJET CMS before 8.6.896 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in an administrator's browser. The media-editing form stores data[65][title] and data[65][thumbLink] without sufficient validation, then renders them in the media list. Content-manager access is sufficient, and an administrator must view the saved list, exposing the administrator's CMS session and privileges.
