Administrator-context script execution via stored book metadata
Published Sep 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Simple Online Book Store System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through crafted book metadata. The published proof of concept submits script markup as Title, Author, or Description data through admin_add.php and shows execution when admin_book.php renders it. Access to the administrator-only book-add interface and a later page view are required, limiting the consequence to script execution in the viewing administrator's browser context.
