Browser script execution via crafted participant name
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Genesys PureConnect Interaction Web Tools allows remote attackers to run script in Printable Chat History viewers. The chat service accepts a crafted participant name in a JSON POST request and inserts that value into the printable transcript without neutralizing HTML or script markup. Execution requires a user to open Printable Chat History; the script then runs in that viewer's browser context, enabling page-data access or actions available to that session.
