Encrypted-data disclosure via exposed hard-coded keys

Hard-coded cryptographic keys in Patterson Dental Eaglesoft 21 allow local users to decrypt protected practice data from key files. The Encryption Key value in keybackup.data or DbEncryptKeyPrimary value in Eaglesoft.Server.Configuration.data exposes the key, while a DLL or EXE embeds the key material and salt used for file encryption. Local low-privileged access to either configuration file or the relevant binary is required, after which protected files can be decrypted outside the application's intended controls.
