CVE-2022-37706Public exploit

Root command execution via unquoted mount pathname

Published Dec 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025

Command injection in Enlightenment before 0.25.4 allows local users to execute arbitrary commands as root through enlightenment_sys. The helper accepts a pathname beginning with /dev/.., appends it without shell quoting to a mount command, and passes the command to system(). Because the helper is installed setuid root, any local account that can invoke it can inject a shell command and obtain root privileges.
