Account compromise via weak password acceptance

Weak password validation in phpMyFAQ before 3.1.8 allows attackers to compromise accounts protected by six- or seven-character passwords. The installer accepted six-character passwords, while the administrator password-change handler imposed no minimum length before storing a matching new password. Exploitation requires guessing or otherwise obtaining the weak password, and the bounded consequence is unauthorized access to that account.
