Rate-limit bypass in Discourse through 2.8.7 allows remote authenticated users to send invitation emails to arbitrary addresses. The invitation system fails to enforce a sending limit in some cases, permitting repeated requests against arbitrary recipient addresses. Administrative access is required; the documented consequence is email spam and resource abuse, with no evidence of account takeover or code execution.
