Profile disclosure via drilldown environment variables
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Information disclosure in Splunk Enterprise and Cloud Platform allows remote authenticated users to expose profile details through dashboard drilldowns. A crafted drilldown URL expands Splunk user environment variables, including usernames, email addresses, and real names, when another user opens the shared dashboard. The attacker needs permission to create and share dashboards, the victim must visit one, and Splunk Web must be enabled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
