Improper certificate validation in Splunk Enterprise 9.0.0 allows remote attackers to intercept or alter S3 destination traffic. The Splunk Web Ingest Actions path stores an S3 destination without applying configured server-certificate and server-name checks to its [rfs:s3] output settings. Exposure requires both a destination created through Splunk Web and configured TLS validation; outputs.conf-created destinations are unaffected.
