Published Sep 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in Apache ShenYu Admin 2.4.2 and 2.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to reset higher-privileged passwords. DashboardUserController.modifyPassword passed an attacker-selected user ID to updateDashboardUser without checking it against the logged-in principal. A low-privilege administrator account is required, and a successful reset enables takeover of a higher-privilege administrator account.
