CVE-2022-37434Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Memory corruption via oversized gzip header extra field

Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Jul 14, 2026

Heap buffer overflow in bundled zlib affects listed Siemens products when crafted gzip headers reach inflateGetHeader. In inflate.c, extra-field copy accounting can wrap the remaining header length and copy beyond the caller-supplied buffer. Only code paths that call inflateGetHeader are exposed; successful triggering can disclose memory, corrupt memory, or crash the process.
