CVE-2022-37424Network attack vector

Authenticated host-file disclosure via unrestricted FILES paths

Published Oct 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information disclosure in OpenNebula before 6.4.2 EE LTS allows remote authenticated users to read frontend-host files through VM templates. The CONTEXT/FILES directive accepts attacker-chosen frontend paths and copies their contents into a VM without sufficiently restricting sensitive locations. Exploitation requires a user able to start a VM from a crafted template and a deployment that runs VMs on the frontend host; disclosure is limited to files readable there.
