CVE-2022-37405Network attack vector

Settings change via missing nonce validation

Published Sep 9, 2022 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Cross-Site Request Forgery in Better Font Awesome 2.0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin settings via forged requests. The save_options function accepts settings updates without correctly validating a WordPress nonce, so a crafted request can be submitted when a site administrator is induced to click a link. The attack requires administrator interaction but no attacker authentication and can alter plugin configuration; broader compromise depends on the settings changed.
