Author-level stored XSS via category name rendering
Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Subina WP Best Quiz 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via category names. The Quiz Add Categories workflow stores an unsanitized category name and later renders it without escaping when the dashboard is revisited. Author-level access is sufficient to plant a payload, but another user must open the affected dashboard page for the script to execute in that user's browser.
