Sensitive backup disclosure via unauthenticated configuration export
Published Jan 19, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025
Missing authentication in WAGO controller and panel web-based management firmware FW16 through FW22 allows remote attackers to download backups. The configuration-export function serves the most recently created backup without requiring an authenticated session, exposing credentials and cryptographic material stored in the archive. Exploitation requires that a valid user created a backup after the device's latest reboot; the reported consequence is read-only disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
