Information disclosure via out-of-bounds PDF read
Published Mar 29, 2023 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in PDF-XChange Editor 9.3.361.0 allows remote attackers to disclose process memory through a crafted PDF file. The PDF parser reads past the end of an allocated buffer while processing crafted JBIG2 data embedded in a PDF. The target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file; disclosed memory can support a separate exploit chain, but this flaw does not write data.
