Remote resolver crash via stale-cache RRSIG query

Denial of service in ISC BIND 9 affected releases allows remote attackers to crash the named resolver with a crafted RRSIG query. The stale-answer-client-timeout implementation reaches an assertion failure while processing the query against stale cache data. Affected releases are 9.16.12 through 9.16.36, 9.18.0 through 9.18.10, 9.19.0 through 9.19.8, and 9.16.12-S1 through 9.16.36-S1; exploitation requires stale cache and stale answers enabled with a positive timeout value.
