CVE-2022-37332Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via asynchronous media player teardown

Published Nov 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Use-after-free in Foxit PDF Reader 12.0.1.12430 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted PDF. The openPlayer API retains a media-player object across asynchronous page-close and document-close actions after closeDoc frees its backing memory. Exploitation requires opening the document, or visiting a malicious site with the browser plugin enabled, and runs code in the reader process.
