Persistent script execution via CDATA sanitization reversal
Published Dec 26, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
Stored XSS in the OX App Suite frontend 7.10.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's session. The snippets sanitizer transforms seemingly benign XHTML CDATA in stored content such as email signatures into executable markup. Exploitation requires access to the same OX App Suite instance or temporary victim-account access and enables session hijacking or unwanted web actions.
