Session hijacking via persistent upsell script injection
Published Apr 16, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
Stored XSS in Open-Xchange OX App Suite frontend 7.10.5-rev50, 7.10.6-rev19, and 8.4 allows attackers to execute script. The upsell module accepts user-controlled non-alphanumeric content as JavaScript and stores it for execution at later logins when the Portal opens. Exploitation requires temporary account access or luring a victim to a compromised account, and the script can hijack the session or trigger unwanted web-interface actions.
