CVE-2022-37300Network attack vector

Unauthenticated controller access via weak password recovery

Published Sep 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Weak password recovery in Schneider Electric control products allows remote attackers to read and write controller data over Modbus. The published advisory does not disclose which recovery exchange or validation step accepts attacker-controlled input. Network access to the controller is sufficient, and successful exploitation grants unauthorized read-and-write control rather than access to the Windows host.
