CVE-2022-3726Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account modification via unsanitized OpenAPI form elements

Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025

CSRF in GitLab 12.6 through 15.3.4, 15.4 through 15.4.3, and 15.5 through 15.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to alter accounts. The Swagger OpenAPI viewer's sanitizer retains form elements, letting a crafted document submit arbitrary same-origin POST requests and override the method for other state-changing requests. Exploitation requires the attacker to publish the crafted OpenAPI document and convince an authenticated victim to open it, click Try it out, and execute the request; resulting actions run with the victim's account authority.
