Unauthenticated response splitting via format parameter
Published Aug 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
HTTP response splitting in MDaemon Technologies SecurityGateway for Email Servers 8.5.2 allows remote attackers to inject headers via the format parameter. The web interface incorporates attacker-controlled format data into HTTP responses without safely rejecting CRLF delimiters, allowing response boundaries and headers to be forged. Exploitation requires network access to the SecurityGateway HTTP service and can alter responses delivered to clients; the record does not establish broader server compromise.
