Authenticated command execution via controllable API dispatch
Published Sep 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Remote code execution in the HTTP API of CuppaCMS 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands. The /cuppa/api/index.php endpoint accepts attacker-selected action and function values; the public exploit selects system and exec and supplies a command in a third POST parameter. Possession of a valid API key is required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the web service's privileges.
