Unauthorized access via weak password handling
Published Sep 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Weak password handling in Inoda OnTrack 3.4 allows remote attackers to gain unauthorized application access through brute-force login attempts. The account controls permit weak passwords, while stored password hashes omit a salt or pepper, enabling efficient offline comparison and cracking. Network access to the login interface supports password guessing; offline hash cracking additionally requires prior access to the password database.
