Unauthenticated command execution via crafted datetime value
Published Aug 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in D-Link DIR-816 A2 firmware 1.10CNB04 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through an HTTP request. The /goform/form2systime.cgi handler passes a crafted datetime value containing shell metacharacters into command execution without neutralization. No authentication is required beyond retrieving the page token, and demonstrated commands run with enough privilege to reboot the router or open a root shell.
