Unauthenticated file disclosure via traversal in logdownload.cgi
Published Aug 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Carel pCOWeb HVAC BACnet Gateway 2.1.0 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files without authentication. The logdownload.cgi Bash script accepts the file GET parameter as FILECURRENT and passes the resulting path to cat without traversal validation. Network access to the gateway web interface is sufficient to retrieve files readable by the CGI process, including sensitive system files.
