Remote code execution via unbounded sscanf parsing
Published Aug 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in EditMacList in H3C H200 H200V100R004 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted HTTP POST request. EditMacList parses the param field with an unbounded sscanf %[^;] scanset into a fixed-size stack buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation can restart the service or yield a root shell.
