Arbitrary command execution via unsanitized firmware filename
Published Aug 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in TOTOLINK A7000R firmware 9.1.0u.6115_B20201022 allows local users to execute arbitrary commands via FileName. UploadFirmwareFile passes the FileName value directly through dosystem, whose implementation invokes system without neutralizing shell metacharacters. NVD assesses local access with low privileges, although the referenced proof of concept sends an HTTP request and claims no authentication.
