CVE-2022-37042Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated remote code execution via ZIP path traversal

Published Aug 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2026

Authentication bypass in Zimbra Collaboration Suite 8.8.15 and 9.0 allows remote attackers to upload files and execute code through the mboximport endpoint. MailboxImportServlet accepts a ZIP archive without requiring an authtoken and extracts entries without constraining paths, enabling directory traversal and arbitrary file placement. Exploitation requires network access to the exposed service but no credentials or user interaction, and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
