Deserialization of untrusted data in Apache Geode through 1.12.2 and 1.13.2 allows remote authenticated users to compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability via JMX over RMI on Java 11. The JMX/RMI management path deserializes attacker-supplied Java objects without an effective serialization filter, allowing malicious object graphs to reach Geode management components. Exploitation requires network access to a Geode JMX Manager and the privileges needed to connect; the resulting impact can include data compromise and service disruption.
