Directory-content deletion via undisclosed TOCTOU race
Published Oct 27, 2023 · Updated Sep 9, 2024
TOCTOU race in Lenovo Vantage HardwareScan Plugin 1.3.0.5 and earlier allows local users to delete arbitrary directory contents. Lenovo identifies the race but has not published the affected function, checked resource, or condition that redirects deletion. Low-privilege local access and successful race timing are required; deletion can remove all contents from an attacker-chosen directory and interrupt service.
