Remote code execution via unvalidated device-log path
Published Mar 29, 2023 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Path traversal in Ivanti Avalanche 6.3.3.101 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted DeviceLogResource path. The DeviceLogResource class uses a user-supplied path in file operations without validating that it remains within the intended directory. Access normally requires authentication, but the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed, leading to code execution as the service account.
