Authenticated filesystem enumeration via unchecked path validation
Published Jul 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Jenkins Buckminster Plugin 1.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to enumerate controller file paths. The doCheckEclipseHome form-validation method passes the supplied value to java.io.File and returns distinct results for nonexistent paths, nondirectories, and paths lacking a plugins subdirectory without checking permission. Overall/Read permission is required, and repeated requests disclose filesystem structure without reading file contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
