Memory access fault via missing boundary check
Published Sep 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap-based buffer overflow in Samsung Mobile Devices Q(10), R(11), and S(12) allows local users to cause a memory access fault. The MHW_RECOG_LIB_INFO function in libSDKRecognitionText.spensdk.samsung.so omits a proper boundary check, permitting a heap buffer overflow. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and can interrupt the recognition component while causing limited integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
