Local file disclosure via implicit PendingIntent
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
PendingIntent hijacking in Samsung Charm before 1.2.3 allows local attackers to access files without permission via implicit intent. The cancelAlarmManager function sends an implicit PendingIntent without restricting its recipient, allowing a malicious local application to intercept the request and read files. Exploitation requires a malicious application on the paired Android device; the reported consequence is unauthorized file disclosure without integrity or availability impact.
