CVE-2022-36801Network attack vector

Anonymous reflected XSS via planUrl parameter

Published Aug 10, 2022 · Updated Oct 29, 2024

Reflected cross-site scripting in Atlassian Jira Server and Data Center before 8.20.8 allows remote attackers to inject HTML or JavaScript through TeamManagement.jspa. The endpoint reflects the untrusted planUrl parameter into a web response without adequate output encoding, so an anonymous attacker can send a crafted link and execute script when a Jira user loads it; the demonstrated impact is browser-context data access or action, not server-side code execution.
