Code execution via unsanitized SVG script payload
Published Jan 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Obsidian Mind Map 1.1.0 allows attackers to execute code when a crafted Markdown document is opened. The mind-map renderer accepts SVG script elements embedded in Markdown and executes their JavaScript inside Obsidian's Electron context. Exploitation requires a user with the plugin installed to open the malicious document, after which attacker-supplied commands run with that user's desktop privileges.
