Administrator account creation via unchecked session permissions
Published Oct 7, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Incorrect authorization in ZKTeco ZKBioSecurity V5000 3.0.5_r allows remote authenticated users to create administrator accounts. The /authUserAction!edit.action endpoint accepts authUser.isSuperuser=true and creates a superuser without correctly checking the session's permissions. A Person Self-Login or User account and a valid session cookie are sufficient, granting full application privileges to the newly created account.
