CVE-2022-36620Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Router crash via unchecked routing fields

Published Aug 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

A buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-816 1.10CNB04 and DIR-878 1.30B08 allows remote attackers to crash the router via addRouting. The handler copies oversized routing-form values, including dest and comment, into fixed-size stack storage without enforcing size limits. Reachability of the router's HTTP interface is required; the published request retrieves a token and demonstrates a router crash.
