Root account compromise via hard-coded password

Hard-coded credentials in TOTOLINK A950RG 4.1.2cu.5204_B20210112 allow local users to recover the root password from firmware. The /etc/shadow.sample file embeds a fixed hash for the root account, and the linked analysis demonstrates offline recovery of its plaintext password. Low-privileged local access to the firmware is required; the recovered credential permits root authentication and full control of the router.
