Hard-coded credentials in TOTOLINK A800R firmware 4.1.2cu.5137_B20200730 allow local users to obtain the root password. The firmware stores a fixed root credential in /etc/shadow.sample, and the public disclosure demonstrates recovery of the embedded password. Low-privileged local access is required; the recovered credential enables root-account authentication and full control of the device.
