Hard-coded credentials in TOTOLINK A720R firmware 4.1.5cu.532_B20210610 allow local users to gain root access. The firmware stores a reusable root credential in /etc/shadow.sample, and the published analysis recovers its plaintext password. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, after which the exposed credential permits root authentication and full device control.
