Root command execution via unauthenticated TCF service
Published Sep 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Remote code execution in Jingle Mining JasMiner X4 Server firmware 20220621-090907 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain root access. The device exposes the Eclipse TCF agent on TCP port 1534 without authentication, allowing its file-system and process services to run with root privileges. Reachability requires local-network access or direct Internet exposure of port 1534; successful access permits sensitive-file reads, arbitrary file changes, and command execution.
